Course Description

Evaluating the impact and quality are important to assure that institutions and programmes meet threshold expectations set by funders, governing boards and professional organisations. Using a systematic approach to evaluate quality and use these to enhance the quality assurance and accreditation systems is critical in health professions education. Therefore this workshop will cover the following:

1. Program impact evaluation frameworks

2. Quality Assurance & Quality Maintenance systems

3. Apply the basic principles of program evaluation

4. Apply quality maintenance at programme level

5. Evaluate challenges, limitations and ways forward

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:

• Apply the basic principles of quality maintenance at programme level
• Discuss and apply principles of continuous quality improvement at Institutional level
• Apply principles of quality assurance and accreditation in health professional education to one’s own learning environment 
• Evaluate challenges, limitations and ways forward for maintaining quality assurance system
